NIGHT MARSH

Fiona Flinn is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, she has shown in many galleries in San Francisco including the Diego Revera gallery, San Francisco Art Institute and the Scott Nichols Gallery. She also was involved in a two person show in The Paul Kane Gallery in South William St. in 2001 and a solo show in The Metatron in Eniskerry in 2003. She was an invited artist to the Boyle Arts Festival in 2004 and won the O’ Sullivan graphics award at 2005’s Irish Watercolour Society annual summer show.

Night Marsh is her first solo show at The Paul Kane Gallery

Artist Statement:

Out of habit I had been walking the marshes near my home-Kilcoole- in the late afternoons. As the weeks moved through November, autumn twilight dimmed to winter night and the marshlands and shoreline took on a mysterious ethereal quality. There was left only a suggestion of landscape, details melted into the shadows. From these walks have emerged paintings without statement, the suggestion of presence to be interpreted by the viewer.
