Born in Bedfordshire in England, Helen Farrell moved to Ireland in 1974 and graduated from the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork in 1987. She has had numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Ireland and abroad, including London, Brussels and Denmark.

Her work is included in the permanent collections of University College Cork, University College Dublin and The Arts Council of Ireland.
